DL E&C Builds Smart Safety Management System in Seoul Metropolitan Area
with Korea National Railway (KR)  

  

DL E&C signed an MOU to build a smart safety management system suitable for deep underground tunnel in the KR Seoul Metropolitan Area Division HQ in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on August 25. The relevant personnel from both companies including DL E&C Civil Engineering Biz Division Director Lee Dong-hee and KR Seoul Metropolitan Area Division Director Kim Yong-doo attended the signing ceremony. 

Through the MOU, both companies plan to lead accident prevention by building and operating safety equipment and integrated safety platform suitable for the GTX-A deep underground tunnel construction sites being constructed by the Civil Engineering Division by combining smart technologies such as IoT and deep learning. As a construction company of the GTX-A project, DL E&C plans to adopt its diverse smart safety technologies. 
 

A system for coping with the safety and accidents of workers including a workers’ facial recognition entry/exit control system and a real-time monitoring system to measure harmful gas concentration will be installed. By providing tunnel workers with a beacon through which the working location and status can be identified, their working location can be identified in real time when they wear it. Likewise, by detecting their collapse or fall, quick rescue activities are possible when an accident occurs. 

DL E&C and KR plan to construct a real-time integrated control system featuring a smart safety system in order to determine the safety situation in the construction section at a glance. They also intend to link the system with mobile gadgets including smartphone.
