Daelim Hosts the Hwarihyeon Tunnel Penetration Ceremony

The Hongseong-Songsan Electric Railway Section 8 Construction Site of the Seohae Line held a tunnel penetration ceremony on Nov. 6 in celebration of the penetration of the tunnel and to wish for the completion of the project with zero accidents. The Hwarihyeon tunnel is 1,150m long, and the site started excavation work in 2017. It succeeded in penetrating the tunnel within 2 years.

The project involves building a passenger and cargo-mixed mainline railway connecting Janghang Line to the south and Sosa-Wonsi Line and New Ansan Line to the north. The Section 8 construction site is currently building an 8.48km railway bed from Cheongbuk-myeon, Pyeongtaek City to Hyangnam-eup, Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi Province. The project started in Apr. 2015, and the current process rate is 83%.
