The Changdong Complex Facilities Site held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Changdong Startup and Culture Industry Complex on September 18. The complex, which will be located at the site of Changdong Station Transfer Parking Lot with 16-story culture and startup facilities and 49-floor apartment buildings, is slated to be completed in 2023. The complex is to be used as space for supporting the startups of young entrepreneurs and creative activities of cultured people and artists.
The complex is a key project for the balanced development of the Gangbuk area of Seoul and is intended to vitalize the Seoul Northeast Area, Seoul’s typical bedroom community, as an employment and cultural industry hub. Daelim CEO Park Sang-shin, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, National Assembly Member In Jae-geun, Dobong Gu Office Head Lee Dong-jin, Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation CEO Kim Se-yong, and 300 local residents attended the ceremony.
