Philippines’ SBPL 500MW CFPP Project Site Achieves Synchronization

Site employees pose for a commemorative photo celebrating synchronization together with client SBPL employees

The Philippines’ SBPL 500MW CFPP site successfully completed synchronization on April 30. Initial synchronization involves transmitting the power produced in the power plant to the power network for the first time, and it is the first step to check whether the power plant can supply power stably and continuously. The site plans to start commercial operations in September 2019 after checking the power supply stability through tests conducted many times for 4 months.

The power transmission status is displayed on the power supply board.

The Philippines’ SBPL 500MW CFPP Project involves building a new 500MW power plant in a coal-powered thermal power plant located in the Mauban area. If the power plant is completed, it will be the Philippines’ first supercritical pressure power plant*. Construction started in December 2015, and commercial operations are planned in September this year.
