Accelerating safety management consolidation, Daelim announced that 302 Daelim executives and partner firms’ executives and employees will successively receive training at the safety experience school in March. To instill a sense of safety and strengthen safety activities, all Daelim executives are slated to participate in the training based on the judgment that executives’ awareness change is most important. Daelim decided to conduct safety training with partner firms to practice win-win development.

Daelim Chairman Lee Hae-wook presented safety management as a top-priority task as he announced the management reform plan last year. To this end, Daelim opened the safety experience school in January this year, and operation has been in full swing targeting new employees of the Daelim Group. Daelim plans to expand the training to construction site managers and head office employees including safety/health managers. A total of 2500 executives and employees are scheduled to receive the training in 82 training sessions this year. Daelim established a policy of improving capability to respond to emergency situations through in-depth training after finalizing all executives and employees’ completion of the safety experience school by 2023. The company also plans to open the safety experience school to students as well as the general public so that it can be a space for improving citizens’ capability to cope with safety accidents and cultivating safety awareness.

The safety experience school is located within the site of the Daelim Education and Research Institute in Cheoin-gu, Yongin-si, Gyeonggi-do. As a 2-story building with total floor area of 1,173.5㎡, the school consists of 19 educational/training and experience facilities. Trainees can experience various temporary structures and equipment used in construction sites. The school is also equipped with large equipment such as excavators and cranes. The facilities by which trainees can experience high-risk work vividly through VR equipment are especially drawing attention. Daelim has produced VR contents through which the top 5 jobs in construction sites — high place work, hoisting of heavy stuff, excavation, electrical work, and firefighting work — can be experienced. Trainees can improve capabilities to cope with risks through risk-removing activities in a risk situation.
