Daelim hosted the Fair Trade Agreement Signing ceremony at Glad Hotel Yeouido on October 4. Attending the ceremony were Daelim CEO Park Sang-shin and 45 partner firms’ CEOs who signed the Fair Trade Agreement in compliance with the Subcontract Act and for win-win growth and held a meeting, too. Based on Daelim’s business philosophy of “Partner firms’ growth is linked with Daelim’s competitiveness consolidation,” Daelim promotes the fortification of partner firms’ constitution from a long-term perspective instead of fragmentary support. Especially, Daelim will adopt additional support measures to strengthen partnership with the partner firms beginning this year.

Daelim plans to expand the standard subcontract agreement for construction materials subcontract and even for general service agreement to spread a fair trade culture. For the fortification of partner firms’ competitiveness, Daelim will adopt a purchase-linked technology development system, a system for implementing a purchase agreement to develop new technologies with partner firms and prevent successfully developed technologies from fading into oblivion. Through this, partner firms are expected to strive for technology development without the burden of securing markets. Safety management activities for construction sites will also be reinforced.  The rate of site safety manager leading the performance of work related to the lives and safety of partner firms’ employees and other workers was increased to 49%, the top level in the industry. Daelim newly set up the Win-Win Growth Team in October 1 in order to play the role of communication gateway with partner firms.

Daelim has also devised and implemented various win-win growth policies. The company has built and operated the win-win payment system of subcontract cost since July 2014 for the first time in the industry. Likewise, since January 2018, Daelim has fully subsidized the transfer fee of the win-win payment system for the subcontract cost (Nomubi.com) paid by the primary partner firm. Daelim has also provided financial support for the partner firms by procuring a KRW 100 billion fund — the top level in the industry – consisting of KRW 50 billion for direct fund support and KRW 50 billion for win-win fund operation. On the other hand, Daelim is implementing the low price screening system to prevent losses due to excessive competition among partner firms. The system is designed to review the price adequacy of bidders bidding at 86% or lower than the budget. This is to select partner firms based on quality and performing capability rather than prices. In addition, Daelim offers financial consulting courtesy of a credit rating agency to improve partner firms’ management and operation competencies and also conducts education/training in various work fields including labor, quality, safety, and environment.

“We will regularly hold meetings for the establishment of fair trade culture and eradication of unfair practices and conduct situation inspection. Let’s communicate and unite together to overcome the difficult domestic construction situation through this agreement signing ceremony,” Daelim CEO Park Sang-shin said.
