Completion Ceremony for Hantan River Dam and Alternative Road Held

The completion ceremony for the Hantan River dam and alternative road was held at the downstream park of the Hantan River flood control dam in Yeongcheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do on November 25. Daelim General Manager Baek Un-il and employees, Land, Infrastructure, and Transport Minister (LITM), and K-Water President attended the event. Construction site employees were awarded Presidential, Prime Minister’s, and LITM’s citations for their contributions to the dam’s completion.
Hantan River Dam completed 10 years after commencement of construction
The Hantan River dam was completed within 10 years of commencement of construction in February 2007. The dam, built by applying the RCD (roller-compacted dam concrete) method for the first time in Korea, has water storage capacity of 270 million tons, height of 83.5m, and length of 690m, connecting Yeoncheon-eup Gomun-ri and Changsu-myeon Sinheung-ri in Yeoncheon-gun, Gyeonggi-do. The dam will perform the downstream flood prevention function for Imjin River.
