YEOCHUN NCC No. 2 Revamp and 2nd BD Site Completes Installation of Five Tall Towers

The YEOCHUN NCC No. 2 Revamp and 2nd BD Site completed the installation of five towers (BD-A-210,220,230,250,310 – maximum height: 75m, maximum weight: 357 tons), one of the key processes of the site, on June 1. Unlike general tower installation, the towers were installed after piping, steel framing, electrical work, and insulation work were completed on the ground. The towers are facilities for distilling and refining crude oil or chemical raw materials and will be used to produce butadiene, a core raw material of synthetic rubber. The Site successfully completed installation 6 days earlier than the scheduled installation completion date. The YEOCHUN NCC No. 2 Revamp and 2nd BD Site is building facilities to expand naphtha and BD production to 335,000 tons and 130,000 tons, respectively, based on annual output within the Yeocheon NCC 2 Plant. Kicking off in August last year, the project is expected to be completed in November this year.
