The Pukpyeong Thermal Power Plant (E) successfully completed the network synchronization and connection system of unit 2 on May 24. The network synchronization and connection system is the step for supplying the electric power produced at the power plant to the power network for the first time.

The Pukpyeong Thermal Power Plant is building a 1190MW (595MW x 2 units) coal-fired thermal power plant in Pukpyeong National Industrial Complex located in Donghae City, Gangwon Province. Unit 1 started commercial operations in March, and Unit 2 is scheduled to commence commercial operations through processes such as general test run and reliability test.
